Meet our Physicians

Dr. Mark S. Stagg was born in Newfoundland, Canada where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. He played and coached rugby for many years, receiving player of the year and coaching teams to provincial championships. Dr. Stagg is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has served as a professional mentor for medical students at Bastyr University and an adjunct faculty member for Marshall University School of Medicine. Dr. Stagg has completed extensive training in proper treatment protocols for patients involved in work injuries and auto accidents. He has written health columns for the Edmonds Beacon and the Herald-Dispatch. Dr. Stagg speaks regularly to businesses and community groups on injury prevention and wellness. He takes a special interest in not only getting patients out of pain but making sure all their health goals are addressed. Dr. Stagg previously practiced in the Seattle area, winning chiropractic clinic of the year. He is a licensed Chiropractic Physician in the state of Connecticut and an active member of the Connecticut Chiropractic Association. Dr. Stagg is co-owner of Whole Associates, with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Stagg.

Dr. Jennifer J. Stagg was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. She attended Memorial University of Newfoundland and received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Nutrition. As an undergrad, she trained in lab research focusing on medicinal plants and immunology. Following graduation, she attended the University of Iowa as a doctoral student in biochemistry. Dr. Stagg left the field of research to pursue a career in natural medicine at the leading institution for science-based natural medicine, Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, graduating with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. She continued with her research in medicinal plants and cancer at the NIH-funded Bastyr Research Center. Dr. Stagg is a licensed naturopathic physician in Connecticut, and is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association. She is past medical editor for the internationally known Journal of Herbs, Spices and Medicinal Plants. Dr. Stagg is co-owner of Whole Health Associates, LLC, with her husband, Dr. Mark S. Stagg.

After graduating with honors as a double major in philosophy and environmental science from Purchase College in New York, Dr. Shawn M. Carney continued to pursue a fusion of these interests by undertaking a career in integrative medicine. He received a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the University of Bridgeport after having worked for several environmental science and engineering firms and serving as a full-time emergency medical technician. Dr. Carney has studied in a wide array of settings including AIDS Project of Greater Danbury, Casa Hostas Rehabilitation Center of Bridgeport and with Dr. Richard Horowitz, vice-president of the International Lyme and Associated Disease Society (ILADS). Dr. Carney is a licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Connecticut. He employs botanical medicines, nutrition, homeopathy, counseling and physical medicine in his approach to optimizing health.

Donatella Fino graduated from the prestigious Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) in 2002. She completed over 1000 hours of hands on instruction, including an internship with the University of Colorado Dal Ward Athletic Center, clinical hours to members of the community, and on-site massage at various marathons. Following her instruction at BCMT, Donatella went on to expand her career in health and science, earning a bachelor degree in molecular biology at Western New England College in Springfield, Massachusetts. While receiving her degree, she continued to work as a massage therapist. Donatella uses her educational background to help facilitate her clients’ health and well being, while working on the mind-body connection. She continues her training and will become certified in manual lymphatic drainage this year, to help assist post-surgical and lymphedema patients.
