Body Composition Testing

Using Bioimpedance Anaylsis(BIA), physicians can assess your body composition, a measurement of your body fat in relation to lean body mass. Excess fat, also known as altered body composition, is related to significantly greater risks or cardiovascular disease, diabetes and many other chronic diseases. Over 100 independent studies, conductd by researchers over the past 20 years, have shown the efficacy and usefulness of bioimpedance analysis for testing body composition.  Body composition testing is also a tool used with most patients to measure progress as they work toward their goals of better health.

Chiropractic Medicine

The chiropractic approach to health care is holistic, with the vision to see the human body as much more than the sum of its parts. Stressing the patient's overall well being, it recognizes that many factors affect health, including exercise, diet, rest, environment and heredity. Chiropractic focuses on maintaining optimal health naturally so that the body is better able to resist disease, rather than simply treating the symptoms of disease. Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical science and, as such, does not include pharmaceuticals or incisive surgery.
 

Insurance

Dr. Stagg is a provider for many insurance companies including, but not limited to, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Connecticare, Corvel, Cigna, First Health Network, United Health Care, HealthNet, Landmark, Oxford, PHCS and Medicare. He submits all insurance claims as a courtesy to his patients. During the initial visit, we will check your insurance benefits, as many plans have chiropractic coverage for out of network providers. Dr. Stagg also accepts personal injury cases and is a provider for many worker's compensation plans.

FirstLine Therapy

Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes are recommended by the National Institutes of Health as treatment for many common  health problems.  Changes include: diet, exercise, stress reduction and sleep. FirstLine Therapy is designed to improve body composition, helping patients maintain muscle as they lost fat.  This service is offered to patients who are overweight, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, metabolic syndromes and many other chronic disorders.

Heidelberg pH testing

The Heidelberg pH Diagnostic System is a state-of-the-art diagnostic tool for measuring the pH levels in the digestive tract. The Heidelberg pH capsule is a technically advanced micro-electronic diagnostic tool that can accurately diagnose a patient who may have hypochlorhydria, hyperchlorhydria,  achlorhydria, pyloric insufficiency, and heavy mucus.

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic medical massage is performed by a licensed massage therapist. Massage therapy may be recommended as part of a treatment plan for addressing back or neck pain, or for stress reduction.

Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic physicians are licensed by the state of Connecticut to diagnose and treat illnesses with natural therapeutics. They receive four years of medical training, including a two-year clinical internship. Naturopathic medicine is science-based and naturopathic physicians possess excellent diagnostic skills. The natural therapies and the philosophy on which naturopathy is based have been effectively used for centuries.
