Massage Therapy

Therapeutic medical massage is performed by licensed massage therapist, Donatella Fino. Massage sessions are scheduled according to time as follows:

30 minute

60 minute

75 minute

Massages may be scheduled as relaxing type massage, deep tissue work or a combination of the two.

Deep Tissue Work
Deep tissue massage is a treatment of slow and specific soft tissue manipulation. Various manual techniques, such as trigger point and myofascial release, help the therapist reach and release deep to the muscle and connective tissues. Two active components: breath and movement are also incorporated into the session. The therapist engages the patient with their breath, allowing for the therapist to assess where restrictions may reside in certain structures. Bodies are composed of 70-80% soft tissue (i.e. muscles, nerves, connective tissue) attached to bones to help move.lilah Therefore initiating movement is an important component to facilitate healing. Passive and active motion techniques allow the patient to move, creating awareness and understanding of how the body works. Through movement, the therapist can manually free any adhered or “stuck” soft-tissues. The combination of soft tissue manipulation, breath, and movement creates a well-rounded treatment for healing.

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is a full-body treatment created to relax and release away all the stresses of our day-to-day lives. The use of long, fluid strokes helps relax the mind and body, and creates a detachment from the hectic world outside. During the session, the therapist also brings awareness to each patient’s breath. This allows them to sink deeper into their body, and works with the philosophy that “healing comes from within.” Remember, this is your time, so forget your laundry list of things to do and give your body a “thank you” for getting you through every day.
